Nidhal Newash, LCSW
I have been practicing therapy for over 20 years. I have completed training in Internal Family Systems (IFS, levels 1&2) therapy, EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Somatic Embodiment & Regulation Strategies. I have been trained by Deb Dana in Polyvagal Theory, which helps people understand how their nervous system works. I have specialized in working with anxiety, sexual trauma, women's issues and with people who are from multiracial/mixed-race identities. I also enjoy working with therapists.
I am trauma informed and integrate cognitive, behavioral, and motivational techniques into treatment. I believe in the mind-body connection and, depending on your needs, will weave in mindfulness and somatic practices during our work together. I use an affirming and anti-racist lens while tailoring my approach to the holistic needs and pace of each individual.
At the age of 12, I knew that I wanted to be a psychotherapist. This deep-rooted passion for providing therapy allows me to feel rejuvenated when working with others. I primarily work from an IFS "parts work" lens and consider myself a guide who can help you find a greater sense of clarity and discover your true Self during our journey together. The clarity gained from this therapeutic experience opens a pathway to make better decisions for yourself and to overcome some of the obstacles that keep showing up. It is my hope that through our work together you will have improved well-being, move into balance, harmony, and the life that one deserves.
I am Level 1 & 2 trained in Holy Fire® Reiki, which is a practice that originated in Japan to promote deep relaxation and energy healing.
In my spare time, I regularly spend time in nature and practice Qigong. Qigong is a movement meditation practice that helps cultivate energy.
I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree, with a clinical concentration, from Temple University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Earlham College.
I offer psychotherapy to clients in Indiana through a HIPAA compliant video platform.
I do not accept insurance.
